So you're, probably here, because you have just taken sandoderma's second skin off and seen that there's, still some adhesion stuck to your skin and your new tattoo.

And now you're probably wondering and maybe even slightly freaking out a bit on what to do and how to go ahead and properly.

Take it off without damaging your new tattoo, and that new skin that it is on now I've had this happen to me multiple times in the past when I view saniderm and initially I freaked out too enough.

So that I went ahead myself and tried to find answers on how to go ahead and remove it.

Unfortunately, there isn't much information out there in terms of how to go ahead and properly.

Remove it without damaging or ruining your tattoo in any way.

The only thing I was able to find is this screenshot right here, which kind of helps, but it also kind of doesn't like it gives some insightful information in terms of what to do.

But at the same time, it doesn't like what oil am I supposed to be using vegetable oil, olive oil avocado oil, sesame seed, oil, peanut, oil motor oil, what oil and because this is a common thing that seems to happen to a lot of people I've had a lot of you guys reach out to me or comment in videos, asking how to properly go about, you know, removing it.

And unfortunately, all I'm able to really do is either copy and paste from what this says or send you that screenshot directly that is until now.

And until today, I actually have a representative from Sandra to come and kind of like explain this better and kind of inform you better on how to properly go about removing that adhesive that is still stuck to your skin.

After you remove the sander or the second skin.

And if you need to be worried or not what's up, guys, I'm, Reno, I'm, a representative here, Senator, uh, you'll often see me at trade shows or on the tick, tock channel.

So when it comes to, you know, keeping adhesive on your body for uh, multiple days, even a Band-Aid, which will generally leave a little line around it.

But especially in areas of your body that bend a lot they're almost guaranteed to have some leftover residue.

And if that residue doesn't just come right off in the first wash, sometimes it takes multiple washes with hot, soapy water to get if it's really just giving you issues.

We then recommend try using coconut oil or baby oil that will help loosen up the adhesive and get up under it and pull it out.

If you really just can't get it off.

You can always purchase medical grade adhesive, remover from your local pharmacy, such as Walgreens CVS Walmart that should definitely take the adhesive right off your skin.

Alright, guys.

So I.

Hope that helps explain things a little bit better in terms of how to go about taking the adhesive off.

Honestly, do not worry.

It will come off by itself from my experiences.

But yeah, if you want to try that oil method now that you kind of know which ones to use, and also maybe try to use that soap method first with a little bit of like a lukewarm water, try that first and then move on to it next.

And like that also screenshot says, try to wash the whole area once it has come off to get that oil off.

So your skin can breathe better now I want you guys to go ahead and give the video a big thumbs up.

So this can be spread to everybody that is having this problem.

And so this can be the number one video in terms of informing people on how to go go about fixing this problem that a lot of us seem to be having also make sure to stay tuned, because I have another video coming very soon featuring Reno about if when taking sander or any second skin off.

And it is stuck on that skin.

If your tattoo is ruined in any way, hope you guys enjoyed the video I will see you soon like always Justin out later, guys.

FAQs

What to do if sticky residue is left from second skin on tattoo? ›

There's some leftover adhesive, how do I get it off? Massage some coconut oil (or our tattoo cream) into the area with clean hands. Let it sit for about a minute and then gently rub it off. If that doesn't do the trick, repeat the process.

Why is my tattoo sticky after removing Saniderm? ›

Additionally, the Saniderm adhesive can leave behind a small amount of sticky residue after removal. You can use Sanibalm or oil to remove any residue left behind. However, you will need to wash the area afterward, as oil may suffocate the skin pores and can cause irritation.

How do you clean a new tattoo after removing Saniderm? ›

Once you remove the saniderm from your tattoo, make sure to gently wash it with unscented antibacterial soap and pat or air dry. Apply a very thin layer of suggested aftercare ointment 2-3 times a day for 2 weeks, until the tattoo is fully healed (no more peeling, dry, or cracked skin).

What removes medical adhesive residue? ›

Rubbing alcohol is effective in dissolving most adhesives. Just put a small amount on a cotton ball, place it over the residue for a few seconds, then proceed to rub it off.

How long do you leave the sticky stuff on your tattoo? ›

If your artist bandaged your tattoo with a clear adhesive film like SANIDERM or TEGADERM, you can leave the film for up to 3 days. There may be a lot of fluid that builds up in the film and that's okay as long as nothing leaks in or out of the film.

How do you remove a sticky tattoo bandage? ›

To take the bandage off you must stretch from each side rather than peel it off like a Bandaid. When you stretch the bandage it allows the adhesive to come off the skin without disrupting the tattoo and taking any ink with it. Wash the tattoo with a mild, fragrance-free soap or warm water.

Why does my new tattoo feel sticky? ›

The moisturizer on the skin will come off, and the tattoo may appear as if it is oozing ink or a thick, sticky substance. This reaction is not usually a cause for concern, as it is just the excess fluid and ink from the tattoo process.

Can Saniderm mess up a tattoo? ›

Saniderm's adhesive will not attach to the weeping area (the oozy part) of a tattoo, therefore it can never damage or pull out ink. In fact, reports suggest that the colors of tattoos remain more vibrant after using Saniderm, compared to tattoos that have healed by other aftercare products.

Do tattoos still peel after Saniderm? ›

Saniderm allows the tattoo to breathe fully while protecting it and keeping the perfect moisture balance. In most cases the tattoo is healed once the Saniderm comes off, but there may be another day of two of peeling skin. There will be another week or so of the skin appearing dry, or even flaking.

Remove the bandage, wash your hands – then gently wash the new tattoo with Dial Antibacterial Unscented hand soap and warm water. During the first week, with the Saniderm on, the body will heal the tattoo better than any ointments or creams. Once you pull the Saniderm off after a week or so, the tattoo should be healed up! You'll just want to apply a non-scented lotion periodically to keep it moist.

What happens if a tattoo dries under Saniderm? ›

If your tattoo IS scabbing underneath Saniderm, as long as there are no signs of infection or contamination, we recommend leaving the bandage on. Removing Saniderm from a scabbing tattoo may pull the scabs off prematurely, disturbing the ink and resulting in color and detail loss.

If using Saniderm, you don't need to apply anything to your tattoo before applying the bandage. However, you're welcome to apply an extremely thin layer of an aftercare product specifically designed for tattoos. Personally, we use and recommend Sanibalm for this.

Why does my tattoo look smudged under the wrap? ›

Your tattoo will still be weeping some ink/blood/other fluid for the first day or so. This discharge can get stuck under the bandage and cause it to look blurry or even like there is a thick colored film over the entire area. This is ok!

How many times can you put Aquaphor on a new tattoo? ›
