All right welcome back to david hd.

Everybody, if you guys are new to the channel, make sure you guys like comment and subscribe.

So today, I'm gonna do a video that is basically addressing a question that I got from some of the subscribers.

And it was what happens with the enhanced security mode.

If you disconnect the battery.

So today, we're gonna go ahead and show you the hand, security mode again, if you haven't seen the video, um, make sure you go back to some of my videos.

So you can check it out, and then we're gonna go ahead, put the the enhanced security mode on.

And then we're gonna go ahead disconnect.

The battery put the battery back on, and then see what happens let's, go all right.

So right now what we're gonna do is I'm gonna go ahead and I'm gonna show you, uh, putting putting the vehicle on valet mode.

So you guys could take a look and then see how it's done so with the valet mode, uh, you're gonna go here.

And this is how you take, um, the enhanced security mode on.

So the enhanced security mode, disables, your valet mode.

So now, um I'm going to go ahead and put it in just put in any code, any four digit code and right now it's gonna activate enhanced security mode.

So right there, it's, good so we're gonna go ahead start the vehicle start up like normal and then you're going to start hearing the idol starting to die down, look I'm, giving a lot of gas and I'm getting that stutter look at my feet.

And this limits, the car, uh to 2.8 horsepower.

So you can't just go ahead and just drive away with the vehicle it'll stutter.

And if you try to floor, it it'll shut off completely.

So what we're going to do now is we put in the code we're gonna leave it like so we're gonna go ahead disconnect.

The battery leave it off for a minute or so minute or two, and then we're gonna go ahead and put the battery back on all right.

Let's.

Go all right so we're in the back where the battery is and what we're going to do right now is we're going to go ahead and disconnect the battery so should be able to disconnect it all right and we're going to do now is just leave the battery disconnected for about a minute we're going to look at the watch and right now, 7, uh, 1712, we'll, be back at 17 13 and give it a look all right.

So right now we waited about a minute, 17 13 and probably about a in 30 seconds.

So right now, what we're gonna do is we're gonna go ahead and put the battery back on hop inside turn it on and see if the valet mode is still saved on the vehicle and see if it's still good to go let's go.

So here we go all right all right and then let's hop inside and we'll, turn it on and see how it goes all right so we're back in the vehicle we're gonna go ahead and uh, start it back up ac.

Everything came back on so quick a bit of information.

So when your screen looks exactly like this, okay, your uconnects been reset.

Okay.

So right now, the vehicle is back at normal idle.

So what does that tell me that tells me a the enhanced? Security mode is useless.

If you disconnect the battery, okay, right now they can get back in the vehicle and take off.

And the power everything is restored.

I can accelerate I'm getting full power.

The enhanced security mode.

It doesn't, even give me an option.

I don't even have my performance pages.

I don't have anything right now.

So what you need to do now at this point because you reset your battery is we're going to shut it off we're going to go ahead, put the vehicle back on run you're gonna hold the power, and then this button as well and you're gonna push it in for 20 seconds.

One, two, three, 4 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 10, 11 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and then you're going to let it go.

And what it's doing right now it's going to reset your uconnect and reload, all your srt information all that stuff.

So right now you saw it shut off.

It showed the srt smoke so we're going to wait a little bit, and it should be coming back up back to like normal so let's, see, hopefully it does and doesn't make me look dumb all right so, and we are back so normal, hellcat pages so on and so forth.

So srt mode, we're going to turn the car back on we're going to go back into valet mode and see what happens if the enhanced security mode is is back on or is it now disabled out of the vehicle? So let's, go ahead, put it back on.

So right now, turn the car back on normal acceleration.

Okay, you're gonna go ahead.

Go back in valet mode, which is the enhanced security mode and we're gonna go ahead put in the code, and you automatically hear that the idle it lowered the rpm.

Okay, we're back on the enhanced security mode.

So it's still saved on the vehicle because it is uploaded through the obd2 port.

So it's, still on the vehicle look given the gas and it'll splutter.

But it will just shut off on me.

So it's, not giving me that full power so let's get out of the vehicle and I'll give you my last bit of information on this enhanced security mode, and should you get it? Or should you not let's? Go all right? So I did this video because I had a couple of subscribers asking me questions about what happens.

If you disconnect, the battery does the enhanced security mode, still work.

So the answer is, no, if you disconnect the battery and I didn't, try with the initial just disconnect it for a second or two, but I did for like a minute.

So if someone that's trying to break into your vehicle notices that you have the hand, security mode and can't take off, and they just jump out disconnect.

The battery for like a minute, put it back on.

They can leave with your vehicle.

It is reset back to normal.

Okay.

So there's, no enhanced security mode on the vehicle anymore, all right so that kind of sucks on that part.

But you did see once I did reset with the power and the tune button holding it down for 20 seconds.

And reset the uconnect, the enhanced security mode is still there all right so is it something worth getting? Um, if it's something that you're gonna just use real quick to go out to a restaurant or this place and it's in a high, uh in a location where high visibility? Um, I think it's worth getting right if it's something that you're trying to have as your main uh security system in your vehicle.

I think you need to do a little bit better than that.

Um, there is flaws with this system.

And as you saw, um, once I disconnected the battery I was able to just, you know, accelerate the vehicle and had full power.

I could have drove around like nothing all right.

So, um that that's.

The only thing that kind of sucks with it, um.

But if you're just, hey, going out to little store going here, you put in a little pin if somebody wants to get in the vehicle and try to take off it's, not going to go anywhere it's going to go like a couple feet.

Stop couple feet.

Stop.

If they try to floor to try to take get away it's, basically going to just shut off on them.

So for that aspect, it does work, but overall it's a poorly designed half-assed attempt on trying to get proper security for your vehicle.
